Justin Champagnie's role with the Washington Wizards is uncertain, but the team must avoid making the same mistake as the Philadelphia 76ers did with his brother Julian. The Wizards' depth chart is stacked, and Champagnie is fighting for minutes with several other players. However, he has shown flashes of brilliance during his time in the DMV and is an excellent rebounder and efficient shooter. Washington can field offers for Champagnie, but if they're going to move on from him, it has to come by way of trade rather than simply cutting him. The team needs to get real value in return for Champagnie, rather than letting him walk out the door for free. In fact, Washington doesn't have to move on from Champagnie. Having too much talent is a good problem to have, and the Wizards are not used to having this kind of depth. If they do move on from Champagnie, it has to be because a team offered them a deal they couldn't refuse.
